Bermuda Grass (Arugampul) Lawn Seeds

Arugampul (Bermuda grass) seeds for a tough, fine-bladed lawn that loves the Tamil Nadu sun. Hulled seed sprouts in about 7–10 days in warm weather and knits into a dense, hard-wearing green carpet.

How far one pack goes

Step by step

1. Prepare the soil – loosen the top 10 cm, clear weeds and stones, level and firm.
2. Sow criss-cross – spread half the seed lengthwise and half crosswise.
3. Rake in lightly – cover with no more than 3 mm of soil and firm it down.
4. Water little and often – mist several times a day for 7–10 days, then once a day.

Lawn care

1. First mowing – start at 1.3–2 cm once the grass is up.
2. Mowing height – keep the lawn at 2.5–5 cm and mow often.
3. Full cover – about 4 weeks with warm soil, sun and steady moisture.
