Snake gourd (pudalangai) is a classic pandal vegetable for kootu, poriyal and sambar. Packed by Sri Lakshmi Agro for home, terrace and kitchen gardens.

Good to know: Tie a small stone to the tip of young fruits to keep them growing straight. On terraces with few bees, hand-pollinate in the morning: touch a male flower to the female flower (the one with a tiny fruit behind it).
Growing tips
- Use a light, well-draining mix, such as garden soil, cocopeat and vermicompost in equal parts.
- Keep the soil moist but never waterlogged until the seeds sprout.
- Water in the morning or evening, and feed with compost or organic manure every 2–3 weeks once the plants are growing.
- Results depend on season, weather, soil and care.
