White Rain Lily Bulbs (Zephyranthes candida)

Step by step

1. Plant in groups – Tops of the bulbs 2.5 cm under the soil, 5–10 cm apart.
2. Edge a path – Rush-like leaves make a neat evergreen border in full sun.
3. Dry, then soak – Let the soil dry, then water deeply – blooms follow in a few days.
4. Divide rarely – Clumps multiply on their own; divide every 4 years or so.

What to expect

1. Pure white cups – Star-shaped with a green-gold heart.
2. Golden anthers – A bright centre inside each cup.
3. Rush-like leaves – Neat, glossy clumps all year.
